Alright, so I’m going to keep this space updated more frequently on whatever the issue may be. I’ll start tagging these posts with “personal” if they’re not really news material or bulletins of sorts.

This will be the first part of a “how to produce“-thingie I’m going to post here. It might sound somewhat cynical, but I thought I’d hit the old “how to produce” from a different angle - it’s basically a love letter to producing.

A frequently asked question in interviews, is wheter I have any good tips on how to produce and such. My usual response is something like “if you’re heart wants it bad enough it, just keep doing it”, perhaps less or more cheesy though. But that about sums up what (making) music is to me. If you strip it of all those technical and physical aspects, the soulful and emotional values are what strikes me the most. Carl B, being badly hungover from the vodka indulged after a gig in Poland, described making music as ’self-therapy’. And that’s what producing is to me (and many others).

My point is that like with everything, if you’re passionate and your heart is in it, it’s a great start. And I am certain most people did not start producing because they saw success on the horizon - I think they started because they needed it themselves, and thus, making other people understand/feel them. That’s why it’s so great.

…for this website would be very welcome friends! I am planning on expanding this space to get more of a regular “blog” going but of course aimed towards music and the beloved genre within EDM. What I ask though is what would you be interested in reading? Be it some tips on producing or just general information, please let me know!

2009 is coming to an end

Hello all!

I’ll just summarize the year here, and in short, I’d say it’s been fantastic. I’d like to thank you all for supporting my music this year and I feel I’m now “back in the game” after 2009. The musical highlight it probably the Summer Skin-EP (ATB’s NYE-compilation have both tracks featured, release 01.01.2010!) but I’ve also managed to have collaborations with other artists such as Danjo and Carl B, as well as broaden my range to the more housier areas. I recently got to finish the year with a wonderful gig at Digital Society in Leeds as well (check the YouTube-videos to see the videoreport) and I had a blast there.

All in all, I just wish to thank you for your continued support, hope you’re safe and well out there, and that you’re holidays will be great. It means a lot that you keep up with me and I try to return the favour via my music!

So, here’s to a great 2009, and for a hopefully even better 2010! Have fun during these holidays but please stay safe as well.

What’s been happening lately then? To start with, ATB has picked both tunes of the “Summer Skin EP” for his forthcoming (01.01.10) “The DJ In The Mix 5″ which is coming out on german Kontor Records. Very happy news of course and I’m excited that he picked both tunes!
